The Deontaye V. Caple Scholarship Foundation commemorates the lifework of Deontaye Vontavious Caple. Our mission is to empower Alabama students through educational opportunities. As an official Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO) under the Alabama Accountability Act, we strive to provide funding for college, secondary school, and private school education, ensuring every student has the chance to reach their full potential.

The DVC Scholarship Foundation was established by Tensie Caple-Lockhart (Deontaye’s mother), Gabrielle Glance (Deontaye’s girlfriend), and Tara Davis (Gabrielle’s sister) to honor Deontaye who died at the age of 19 on August 13, 2016, in a car crash involving a drunk driver. At the time of his passing, Deontaye was headed to Troy University to begin his sophomore year. Deontaye was a pillar of the community. Our goal is to continue his legacy.
